Recently a lot of countries have come to a decision that is of more benefit to digital nomads by offering digital nomad visas. Keeping this in mind, Colombia has announced the launch of the most enticing digital nomad visa we have seen till now.
Many details are not yet disclosed to the public, as the only requirement disclosed till now is that visitors must possess at least a minimum of $648 of monthly income.
If we compare it to the other countries offering digital nomad visas, these requirements really make Colombia’s Digital Nomad Visa stand out from the crowd and present it as an amazing option for digital nomads.
Colombian Digital Nomad Visa is just going to be launched this coming fall. According to KPMG, anyone staying for more than 183 days in a year shall also be stated as a tax resident. Other than this, digital nomads will be able to stay in the country for extended periods and enjoy the beauty of the country, as well as contribute to their economy.
Usually, the rules and conditions for issuing Digital Nomad Visas are when a valid passport, proof of income, health insurance for the stay period and a criminal record check (not required in some cases) are presented.
Countries other than Colombia have also been offering Digital Nomad Visas. However, in comparison to Colombia Digital Nomad Visa, they have high salary requirements for accepting digital nomads. Such as, Costa Rica requires proof of income of 3,000 USD per month, Croatia has established a minimum threshold of 2,600 USD monthly, while Malta climbs even higher, rejecting digital nomads whose income does not equal 3,063 USD a month. Another prime example is that of Montserrat, which requires a whopping 70,000 USD per year (that is 5,830 USD a month!)
The announcement of Colombia’s Digital Nomad Visa was great news for digital nomads. The new Colombian Digital Nomad Visas, launching this fall, are going to let travellers soak in the beauty of the country for extended periods without worry.
