Trump Selects Elise Stefanik for UN, Tom Homan as Border Enforcement Chief

United States

#immigration

President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Congresswoman Elise Stefanik as UN ambassador and Tom Homan as the new "border czar" to lead immigration control.

Stefanik, a close ally, will need Senate confirmation, while Homan's role does not. Known for his hardline stance, Homan is set to implement Trump's extensive deportation agenda, dubbed "Operation Aurora," aiming to expel undocumented migrants.

Trump has amplified rhetoric against migrants, calling them "vicious criminals" and vowing to stop what he describes as an "invasion." Critics warn that his approach could worsen border humanitarian issues, with Homan emphasizing plans for "humane" enforcement by ICE.
