Duke University, located in Durham, North Carolina, is a private research university. In the year 1841, it became the Union Institute Academy. 

Duke is famous for its outstanding researchers. Their remarkable accomplishment is the discovery of treating HIV and AIDS using human chromosomes. Their researchers also explore urgent social concerns, providing a high-impact scholarship in such areas as election districting and public health.

The Duke-NUS Medical School was established in 2005 through a partnership between Duke and the National University of Singapore. Duke Kunshan University started its graduate programs in 2014, and its undergraduate programs followed in 2018. DKU is a collaboration between Duke and Kunshan, China's Wuhan University.

The National Book Award through the Pulitzer Prize is won by many of their faculty members who have authored books on nonfiction, fiction and poetry.

ACCOMMODATION

In 2022, 1,011 students will be enrolled with the Student Disability Access Office (SDAO) at Duke University, which provides a variety of accommodations to disabled students. Students need to provide history and specifics of their condition in medical records from qualified professionals.

On their website, the SDAO offers recommendations for medical records. The SDAO provides virtual office hours on Zoom every Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
