Freie Universität Berlin

About

With an impeccable learning environment, world-class resources, and modern campuses decorated with useful resources, Free University Berlin maintains its goal to develop and nurture its scholars who are enrolled. The Free University is one of the handfuls of prestigious German universities in the German Universities Excellence Initiative. The university regularly finds it ranked among the top 5 German Universities. It holds specialities in arts and humanities as well as social sciences.

On the plus side, the university does not charge any tuition fees in the traditional sense. Students and professors founded this university in response to the oppression faced by the students who took a critical eye on the system and organization at the Humboldt University of Berlin, which at that time was located in a divided city in the Soviet sector. Establishing a free institute found widespread support in the international and local community, including financial support. This aid helped pave the way for Free University to become an institute with an exceptional international reputation.

Founded in 1948, Freie Universitat Berlin is a prominent research and full-spectrum university comprising 3 Central Institutes and 12 Departments that offer more than 150 academic programs in a different and broad range of disciplines.
