Loughborough University is a public research university founded in 1909 as Loughborough Technical Institute in the town of Loughborough, Leicestershire, England. LSU (Loughborough Students' Union) is the representative body for the student at the University. In 2011, It was awarded the International Experience award by NUS (National Union of Students). The LSU also represent the student body through Union Council and contributes to academic support. Union has 5 main sections for students: Societies Federation consisting of 80 clubs, the athletic union offering 56 different sporting societies, and 45 regular projects working for the elderly, homeless and people with special needs. Student's Rag at the University in a fundraising organization. It has been raising over 1 million EUR for the last 8 years for local and international charities. Total fundraising records over 16 million EUR.

The media centre at Loughborough University offers the opportunity to make TV shows on University's TV LSUTV and on the University's radio LCR. Student of the School of Drama, Arts and English runs the first student-led publishing company named "Lamplight Press".
