About

Macquarie University is a public institute based in the suburb of Macquarie Park in Sydney, Australia. The government of New South Wales created it in 1964; it was the 3rd institution established in Sydney's metropolitan area. Founded as a verdant university, Macquarie has five 5 faculties, as well as the Macquarie Graduate School of Management and University Hospital, which are situated on the university's main campus in suburban Sydney. This institute is the first in the country to fully align its degree system with the Bologna Accord.

Situated in Australia's heart, Macquarie University is the largest high technology precinct 15 kilometres from the centre of Sydney. This institute of engagement and service serves to engage staff and students through transformative life and learning experiences and to engage the world through dissemination, the discovery of ideas and knowledge, innovations, and deep partnerships. Macquarie benefits from an environment of innovation, outstanding research, and teaching and learning opportunities with some of the leading organizations around the globe.

According to Australia's Government, 80% of Macquarie's research areas are of global standards. This institute has climbed the World Universities Academic Ranking, improving its position yearly. Macquarie University is rejuvenating teaching and learning efforts. In 2011, the university opened a state-of-the-art library at the cost of 98 million dollars, student facilities are being redesigned, and teaching spaces are being renovated and expanded. In recent years this university has developed stronger relationships with alumni, donors, industry, and other supporters who want to see the university continue to flourish.

This institute has a total student body of 40,290. Campus life fares Macquarie University's nonacademic services: retail and food, student groups, recreation and sports, entertainment and childcare.

GLP (Global Leadership Program) is a co-curricular program funded by the university. It is open to all academic communities and can be undertaken besides any degree at the university. This program aims to instil innovation and leadership skills, a sense of global citizenship, and cross-cultural understanding in the graduates.

Accommodation

At Macquarie University campuses, there are 2 residential colleges, Robert Menzies College and Dunmore Lang College, both established in 1972. These colleges offer a wide range of social and sporting activities and academic support in a communal environment. Besides these colleges, Macquarie University Village has over 900 rooms on the north campus. Most of these spaces are in townhouse-style buildings. This village encourages its residents to interact in the living spaces and has several annual social events.
