Northeastern Institution (NU or NEU) is a private research university in Boston with a significant campus. The institution was founded in 1898. This university provides undergraduate and graduates degrees on its main and satellite campuses. Their satellite campuses are in Charlotte, North Carolina, Seattle, Washington, San Jose, California, Oakland, California, Portland, Maine, and Toronto and Vancouver, Canada.

The total academic personnel at this university is 3,049. In 65 departments, Northeastern offers undergraduate majors. There are over 125 graduate-level programmes available. 

It is categorized as belonging to "R1: Doctoral Universities - Very High Research Activity."

Nobel laureates, Truman, Marshall, and Rhodes scholars are among Northeastern's faculty members and graduates. 

Students

This university has a total of 27,602 students. They have a total of 19,004 undergraduates and 8,598 postgraduates. 

Northeastern sees learning opportunities through a global lens, which includes an extensive network of learners. There are almost 7,035 international students at Northeastern​. It makes up 32.5% of all total students from over 147 countries.

Northeastern is one of the best schools for students outside the United States. Their Northeastern International Student Hub is where one can go through and learn about admissions, contact student support etc. 

The Torch Scholars Program awards full-tuition scholarships to students who have overcome exceptional odds and demonstrated the potential for academic excellence.

Merit scholarships worth between 10,000 USD and 28,000 USD a year are available to international students. Admission also serves as a scholarship application, so there is no need to submit a separate one. It does not, however, fully cover the expense of attendance.

Accommodation

They have many residence halls. These include nine traditional, four suit-style and 12 apartment-style accommodations.

Most of their undergraduate students live on campus. However, students in their third and fourth years can live off-campus.
