The Polytechnic University of Catalonia, also referred to as Barcelona-Tech, is the major engineering institute in Catalonia, Spain. UPC also offers programs in other disciplines, such as architecture and mathematics.

The objectives of UPC are centred on internationalization. The Polytechnic University of Catalonia is among Europe's top technical universities with the major share of international master's degree students and the most international PhD students. The university aims to reach the highest degree of technical/engineering excellence and has bilateral agreements with numerous top-ranked European universities.

Barcelona-Tech is a public institution dedicated to research and higher education specializing in architecture, engineering, and science. The university is forward-looking and strives to teach top technical courses that are approachable to the needs and requirements of traditional and evolving production sectors, including photonics, supercomputing, aeronautics, water and engineering, and bioengineering, all within the scope of European Research and Higher Education Areas.

Students

The university has about 23,200 students, of which almost 3000 are international students. It is one of the European institutions that receive the most students and has a high level of outward student mobility. Among Spanish universities, it has the highest number of international doctoral and master's students.

The Student Council at UCP is the primary student representation body. This council works to promote university life and guarantee students' rights in both academic and social terms. Moreover, various academic, sports and cultural associations bring together students with similar interests. These associations are individuals who come together voluntarily and freely, dedicated to sharing activities, knowledge or funding.

Accommodation

Halls of residence are buildings specifically designed to accommodate UPC students and visiting teaching staff. They offer fully furnished rooms for one or two students and all of the services you need to feel at home. Managed accommodation refers to apartments with shared services and facilities that offer greater independence and are ideal for shorter stays.
