ABOUT

The University of Aix-Marseille is a public research university located in the southern France Provence region. This university was founded in 1409. AMU has many teaching and research partnerships, including collaborating with the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission and CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research).

This institute is professional, public, cultural, research-intensive, and located in the south of France. Aix-Marseille University is now the largest French institution, with 130 recognized research centres linked with major research organizations. AMU contributes extensively to the dissemination of knowledge and a knowledge-based economy.

Aix-Marseille University aims to encourage innovation and risk-taking in applied and basic research. The main goal of AMU is to facilitate exchange and interaction between disciplines because it is essential to progress in research and place the potential of AMU at the highest national and international levels. STUDENTS

Aix-Marseille University has 77,000 enrolled students, including 10,000 international students. Institutions offers a wide range of general and vocational courses and 590 degree courses which offer education and training in all disciplines. Some courses are taught in French and English, like Political Science, International Relations, and Business. For French-speaking students, they have French Language & Culture Program where students from all French levels can enrol. This program is taught at SUFLE, the French Language Centre of AMU.

The university's main campus is located near the city centre in Aix-en-Provence. Students taking courses in the Faculty of Economics (FEG) or SUFLE will have classes on this campus. Moreover, students studying at Sciences Po Aix will have to take courses in the old city centre’s IEP building.

The university's main campus offers many opportunities to get involved in student life and local culture. Students can visit markets, explore the old city, local museums, and theatres, and enjoy the local café culture of France. Located on a short distance from Marseille, the Aix-en-Provence campus offers plenty to explore major European capitals that are easy to access by train, bus, and low-cost flights.

ACCOMMODATION

AMU offer on-campus housing with competitive rents and fully furnished rooms. These residences are managed by CROUS Housing Facility, which the French government subsidizes. Due to this, CROUS offer the lowest rents as compared to the market. The rent for an average room here is around 200 EUR per month. This accommodation is primarily allocated to students with limited resources.
