ABOUT

UEF- the University of Eastern Finland was founded in 2010 and has two primary campuses in Kuopio and Joensuu. UEF is one of the largest institutions in the country. The institute also has a campus in Savonlinna. Each UEF campus has a distinct profile and cooperation between the education, research and support services.

The university offers programs in 3 fields of study at the bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels. These include;

An international research university with a wide range of foreign partners is the University of Eastern Finland. The University of Eastern Finland aspires to be one of the top 200 research universities in the world and, in the fields where we are particularly strong, one of the top 50.

STUDENTS

Both local and international students may enrol at the university. At UEF, there are 6% of international students.

Students have the chance to participate and take part in international exchange programmes while they are studying.

ACCOMMODATION

Independent, nonprofit organisations that are not affiliated with the University of Eastern Finland provide student housing.

If you are an exchange student under an exchange program, you can apply for lodging as soon as you get the University of Eastern Finland's formal Letter of Acceptance, but no earlier than three months before your arrival.

Joensuun Elli is an independent student housing company that houses more than 3000 students and offers lodging in Joensuu for both international and Finnish students.

Building and maintaining student housing in Kuopio is the responsibility of Kuopas (Kuopio Student Housing Enterprise), a publicly traded company controlled by the city. The majority of international students live with Kuopas, along with more than 3000 other students and their families.
