ABOUT

The University of New South Wales is a public research university founded in 1949. It is based in Sydney, Australia and is one of the main founding members of the Group of Eight, a group of Australian research universities.

With approximately a 2.46 billion AUD endowment, it offers more than 40 disciplines ranging from social sciences, arts and design to engineering and law. UNSW grooms its students to become capable of being problem solvers and combating the hardships of the world as efficiently as possible.

The university is also an integral part of multiple partnerships such as the NUW Alliance, The NSW Equity Consortium and the Centre for Social Impact.

There are 3 campuses of UNSW. The main Paddington and Kensington Campuses based in Sydney, and one campus in Canberra.

STUDENTS

The university has around 63,232 students. They are made up of about 35,679 undergraduates, and around 18,226 postgraduates. 

The students are a part of many interesting projects such as the Sunswift Solar Racing Team and the MAVSTAR Project.

The one and only student organization at UNSW is known as Arc, which hosts all the clubs, sports activities, events and volunteering opportunities for the students.

The university also provides scholarships to both international and domestic students so that ambitious students from any background can achieve their goals and break new ground.

There are more than 300 university clubs in place which students can join to be socially active and to be part of a bustling community. With over 30 sports clubs such as Boxing, Badminton, Cycling, Aikido etc. there is a chance for every student to enjoy activities of their liking.

ACCOMMODATION

The University of New South Wales is largely providing students with on campus accommodation in their own UNSW self operated colleges such as the Colombo House, the Kensington Colleges and UNSW Hall.

There are also multiple on campus apartments present such as the University Terraces, Barker Street Apartments and Jacaranda Hall.

Off campus accommodation includes UNSW Village which is affiliated with the university as well as multiple affiliated colleges such as Creston College and Shalom College

The prices of accomodation vary and are usually fluctuating at around 300-500 USD per week on average.
