ABOUT

The University of Stavanger was founded in 2005 and is situated in Stavanger, Norway. The fourth-largest city in Norway, Stavanger, is located on its southwest coast.

The University of Stavanger offers more than 1,800 courses and over 300-degree programs in its six significant colleges at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The performing arts, social sciences, educational sciences, and humanities, as well as the University of Stavanger Business School, are among these faculties.

The university grants doctorates in literacy, risk management, societal safety, educational sciences, health and medicine, governance, economics, and tourism, sociology, social work, and culture and society, as well as in offshore technology, petroleum technology, risk management, and societal safety- technical/scientific approach, information technology, mathematics, and physics. It also offers master's degrees in chemistry and biological science.

Students may also participate in the university's inbound and outbound foreign exchange programs, which allow them to travel, experience other cultures, and make new friends. Past participants have visited Italy, Finland, the United States, Australia, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. It may be taken for one or two semesters.

STUDENTS

The university has a total enrollment of 10,888 students and 1372 faculty and staff members. It is structured into three faculties: the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Science and Technology.

As part of the Reciprocal Educational Exchange Program (REEP), students from various academic disciplines are allowed to attend the University of Stavanger. More than ten percent of the student body comes from a background in another country, making international students an essential component of the campus community.

ACCOMMODATION

The University of Stavanger will provide international students with a housing application code following registration of their study application. To apply for this student housing, please use the code provided. Only first-time international students visiting Norway should enter this code.

Due to the unstable property market in Stavanger, UiS cannot guarantee housing for all international students.

You will only get one housing offer and must arrange accommodation if you decline it.

With the agreement of SiS Housing, international students are permitted to switch rooms with another student or move dormitories.
