ABOUT

The University of Turku is a leading institute in Finland in terms of research. The university was first established in 1920 and was the first Finnish language university. The institution belongs to the Coimbra Group, a grouping of notable educational institutions throughout Europe. After Temper University and the University of Helsinki, it is the third-largest university in the country in terms of student enrollment.

The university is spread over seven faculties and offers studies in various programs. Their total academic staff is 1,505. Moreover, it is also named in various research and inventions each year.

The University of Turku, one of Finland's top universities, provides study and research opportunities across its eight faculties. The Faculty of Humanities and the Faculty of Science and Technology are the two biggest faculties. The university offers students a high-quality, multidisciplinary education based on the latest research, as well as creative problem-solving abilities. Their Bachelor's or Master's degree programmes are offered in English.

Their University Collegiate Council is made up of 30 people: 10 professors, 10 other academic staff members, 10 other staff members, and 10 students.

STUDENTS

The university is home to around 20,000 students, including 8,247 undergraduate, 6,000 postgraduate and over 1,984 doctoral students. These students are from about 100 countries worldwide.

Around 5% of the university's student body is international, representing more than 100 nations. The institution takes part in a number of international exchange programmes for teaching faculty and students.
