The application process has two main parts.
Visa Processing Time
The actual processing time for this visa is 5 to 10 working days. But note that this duration may differ according to the specific office where you are applying. But getting the Certificate of Eligibility can take up to three months.
Duration
The visa duration is usually either one year or three years. However, for certain professions, such as entertainers, the time is three months, six months or a year. However, you can apply for an extension if your work requires it.
Fees
The payment of fees is in the currency of the country (region) where the Embassy or Consulate-General is located. A single-entry visa costs around 3,000 yen, while a double-entry or multiple-entry visa costs around 6,000 yen.
Fees may be different or may not be required. It depends on your visit's objective and nationality.
There are no fees if the visa is not issued. Suppose the visa application is made thru an approved agency by the Embassy or Consulate General of Japan. In that case, they require processing fees and visa issuance fees.
To apply for an extension, you must apply for an extension with the proper documents. It should include an Extension of Period of Stay application form and your company's registration documents.
