This Start-up Visa for Austria allows you to develop and establish a company to launch and develop innovative products, processing methods or technologies. To get this visa, you must submit a consistent business plan for establishing a company. You must prove that you must exert a controlling influence on the management of the newly set-up firm.

To get Startup Visa for Austria, you must have a founding amount of 50,000 EUR for the company and an equity share of at least 50%. You must pass Visa Point-based assessment with a minimum of 50 points.

ELIGIBILITY

To get eligible for Austria Start-up Visa, you must have the following eligibilities.

  • You must pass Point Bases Assessment for the Austria Start-up Visa.
  • Proof of work experience according to your qualification.
  • Must have Basic German and intensified independent use of English at B2 Level.
  • Evidence of investment plan of 50,000 EUR minimum.
  • If a business Incubator funds your startup, you must provide proof of admission to the startup funding agencies.

DOCUMENTS

  • Valid Passport or defensible travel document.
  • A birth certificate or any other similar document must be acknowledged by the Austrian Authorities.
  • Photo with a dimension of 45x35mm and photograph must not be older than six months.
  • Proof of Health Insurance or equivalent health policy which covers all risks.
  • Relevant certificated for vocational training.
  • Testimonial and work certificate which show skills in relevant field.
  • Investment Capital Proof with your available equity in the firm.
  • In case of funding from the business incubator, prove your admission to the funding agency.
  • Documents as evidence of the innovational value of your service, product or processing methods.
  • Evidence for your controlling influence on the management of the newly set-up company.
  • You must have the qualification which is necessary for self-employed professional activity.

Note that authorities may ask for additional documents. It depends on a case by case.

PROCESS

Duly fill out and sign your Visa Application form. Then, Lodge your application for an Austria Start-up Visa in competent Austrian representation (consulate or embassy) in your country of residence.

Visa Processing Time
Processing time for an Austrian Start-up Visa is usually around 8 weeks. Keep in mind delays sometimes happen due to several reasons.

DURATION AND FEES

Duration
The Austrian Start-up Visa is issued for twenty-four months maximum. This Visa entitles you to fixed-term settlement and the pursuit of a self-employed occupation.

Fees
An Austrian Startup visa costs you around 160 EUR, including a 120 EUR application fee, 20 EUR granting price and 20 EUR cost of personalization (scan of photography, signature, and fingerprints).

EXTENSION

As a startup founder, you are awarded a Red-White-Red Card for the first two years, which lets you stay in the country for 24 months. When this card expires, you can apply for a Red-White-Red Card plus, which entitles you to fixed-term settlement and unlimited labour market access.
