This Long-term Student visa allows you to study in Europe with a validity of 6 months. You can switch this Visa to Resident Permit if you need to pursue your studies more than this time.

A residence permit will allow you to continue your education for as long as needed. There is no need to apply for another visa if you want to renew your permit. This permit also allows you to work here after completing your studies. To qualify for this permit, you must pass Module 1 of the integration agreement. This Module requires you to show and demonstrate that you have basic knowledge of the German Language. 

ELIGIBILITY

When Applying for Austria Student Visa, all applicants must meet the following requirements.

  • Candidates must have a Passport or travel document issued within the last decade that won’t expire during their stay.
  • Applicants applying for Student Visa must have travel insurance of a minimum of 30,000 EUR, covering any emergency.
  • Proof of Admission to an Austrian institute.
  • Bank Receipts that show paid tuition fee of your university.

DOCUMENTS

  • Valid Passport issued around the last decade and the valid till your stay in the country.
  • Duly filled and signed Visa Application Form for Student Visa.
  • Identity Pictures following Schengen Visa Picture Guidelines.
  • Proof of accommodation in Austria. This could prove that you have arranged your housing in student dorms or campus housing, or you have to show your rent agreement.
  • Travel itinerary including flight numbers, flight dates, and departure dates.
  • Proof of financial means shows that you can support yourself during your stay in Austria.
  • Letter of confirmation from the  Austrian university in which you have secured admission.
  • Copies of Bank Receipts that you have paid your university’s tuition fee.

First, find a university in Austria that suits you the best and secure your admission there, then apply for Austria Student Visa. Fill out the visa application form and gather all required documents. Schedule an appointment to submit your visa application. Prepare for an interview in the embassy. In the consulate, they will probably ask questions about the reason for studying in Austria and possible future plans.
