One of the fundamental requirements for studying in any country as an international student is obtaining a student visa. In the same way that there are visas for Canada and the United States, there is also a student visa for Pakistan that you need to obtain if you plan to travel there to study.

The MOI and Ministry of Education receive the students' plea. The student visa is issued following receipt of a NOC from the relevant country's diplomatic mission in Pakistan, Economic Affairs Division, or Ministry of Health (where applicable), as well as security clearance.

Eligibility

You are eligible if you are;

  • You are from a list of 191 countries that are eligible for this visa.
  • You are visiting the country for educational purposes.

Documents

You require the following papers while applying for a student visa:

  • A finished visa application
  • Original passport with a six-month minimum remaining validity and a photocopy
  • Two most recent passport-sized photos (with white background)
  • Original transcripts and degrees, plus copies
  • Evidence of residence
  • Three-month rolling bank statement to prove that you are financially able to sponsor your stay.

Process

When to Apply
You may file for a student visa once you have been accepted by a university in the country. Make sure you have the required documents as you apply for the visa. Moreover, also bring visa processing time into consideration while applying for this visa.

Visa Processing Time
The student visa for Pakistan takes four weeks time to process. It may vary depending on various factors. Therefore, you should go on with the application as soon as possible to avoid any inconvenience.

 

How to Apply
The MOI and Ministry of Education receive student requests. After receiving the appropriate country's NOC and security clearance, a student visa is issued. Foreign students with valid student visas who are studying in Pakistan are allowed a one-year visa extension upon entrance. Foreign teachers also undergo the same procedure.

Students with passed security are given NOCs for entry visas to the Mission abroad for three months with a single entry. Foreign students with valid student visas who are studying in Pakistan are allowed a one-year visa extension upon entrance.

Fees
The processing fee varies depending on various factors. It normally costs around 90 USD. This fee is for visa processing and does not cover accommodations or any other expenses.

Extension

If your student visa that is currently valid and you are in Pakistan, you may request a visa extension. In the supporting documents, please provide a copy of the entry stamp on your passport and proof that your student visa is still valid.
