If going to school abroad has always been a dream of yours, you should consider studying in Poland. To study in Poland, though, you'll require a current student visa.

You must obtain a student visa at the closest Polish embassy or consulate if you are a non-citizen of the EU, EEA, or Switzerland. The only requirement for citizens of the EU/EEA or Switzerland who wish to study in Poland for a time longer than three months is to register for their stay.

  • You should be a non-EU/EEA or Swiss citizen. 
  • You must be accepted to an educational institute in Poland.
  • You should have enough funds to support yourself in the country.

Documents

The following credentials must be gathered in order to apply for a student visa in Poland. Apart from that, there are certain things to consider while applying for a student visa in any country.

  • A thoroughly filled visa application form.
  • Your resume and a letter of motivation
  • The university's letter of acceptance from Poland.
  • Certificates and credentials from prior colleges and universities.
  • A health plan that will cover you while you're in university.
  • Authentication of your Polish residence or student accommodations.
  • Evidence that you have the money to support yourself during your education. Official bank statements can be used to demonstrate this.
  • Documentation for transportation, such as your aeroplane ticket to Poland.

Process

Even though applying for a student visa to Poland is a fairly simple process, you shouldn't wait until the last minute to start the application process. You must enrol in one of Poland's top higher education facilities before starting the application procedure.

Visa Processing Time
Once you submit the application, it could take up to 15 days for your visa to be processed. You should file for your student visa no later than three months before your enrolment period starts once you have received the university's letter of admission.

You must follow these steps while applying for this visa:

  • Schedule an appointment in the Polish embassy or consulate closest to you.
  • Utilize the E-Konsulat website to complete the application form.
  • Visit the Polish embassy or consulate in person to submit the application.
  • Attend the visa interview if necessary and wait for the approval.

Duration
You are allowed to stay in Poland for one year while using a student visa. It can be extended for an extra two years. Moreover, the duration also depends on the length of the course you are choosing.

Cost
The student visa to Poland costs around 80 EUR. This is a visa processing fee, and you have to pay extra for other facilities.

To continue studying in Poland after your student visa expires, you must request for an extension or renewal of your temporary residence permit. Returning home and reapplying for a visa is an additional option.
