Eligibility

The following general requirements must be met in order to get a study visa for Ukraine:

  • You must first be admitted to a Ukrainian university in order to apply for a study visa for that country.
  • You must prove that you have the money to sponsor yourself while you are a student in Ukraine.
  • You must have a good academic record and fulfil the Ukrainian university's admission standards.

Documents

The following are typical documents needed to apply for a student visa to Ukraine:

  • A thoroughly filled-out visa application form.
  • A passport that is applicable for at least six months after your visit to Ukraine.
  • Two most recent passport-sized photos.
  • A letter of acceptance from a university or other educational institution in Ukraine.
  • Bank documents or a letter from a scholarship would serve as evidence of your ability to sustain yourself financially while you are a student in Ukraine.
  • Criminal record certificate from the place of your residence.
  • Language proficiency certificate depending on the university or educational institution.

Process

A prospective student must present the documents presented above to the Ukrainian consulate in their home country to receive a long-stay visa (type D). The application process can be complex, but there are a few things that can be helpful.

Visa Processing Time
A study visa for Ukraine typically takes 15 business days to process, though this time may increase if more paperwork is needed. It's crucial to apply for your visa well in advance of the date you intend to go to give yourself enough time to accommodate for any unforeseen delays.

How to Apply
You must first be admitted to a Ukrainian university in order to apply for a student visa for that country. After being approved, you must collect the needed paperwork and deliver it to the Ukrainian embassy in your place of residency. You must travel to Ukraine and enrol with the local authorities upon permission.
