If you’re planning to visit the UAE for tourism, you must apply for a Tourist Visa before travelling. It is designed for someone who wishes to spend more time in Dubai. 

UAE have two types of Tourist Visas. One is for a single entry, and another is for multiple entries. Depending on your plans, it can be given for 30 days or 90 days, with single or multiple entries. It is for those not eligible for visa-free entry to the UAE.

What is the difference between a Tourist Visa and a Visit Visa in UAE?

A Tourist Visa is only for tourism. A Visit Visa is valid for business meetings, attending a seminar, or any other purpose. Furthermore, a Tourist Visa allows you to stay for 14 or 30 days. In comparison, a Visit Visa lets you stay for 90 days.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible, you must:

  • have funds to sponsor your visit.
  • be below 18 and accompanied by parents.

Documents

The following documents are needed while you apply for a Tourist Visa to UAE:

  • Identity documents, including passport and recently taken photographs.
  • Travel Insurance
  • Proof of funds, if required.

Process

You can apply through airlines or agencies.

Tourist Visas through airlines
Every airline has its requirements that must be met before arranging for your visa. Flying with them is one of the conditions. 

Tourist Visas through agencies and hotels
Licensed travel companies and hotels in the UAE can assist you in obtaining this visa. They will do this if you purchase your ticket and keep your hotel reservation with that hotel. 

In cooperation with any local tour operator, you may also contact travel agencies in your country. It is to inquire from them about any tourist packages available in the UAE.

When to Apply
You may apply a few days before you want to travel.

Visa Processing Time
Usually, this visa takes 3-4 days to process.

Duration & Fees

Duration
This visa is for 30 days for a single entry. And it is granted for 90 days for multiple entries.  The UAE recently introduced a five-year visa that allows visitors to enter the country multiple times on self-sponsorship. Also, they can stay for 90 days on every visit. It can be extended for yet another 90 days.

Fees
The visa cost may vary depending on each country. Generally, a Tourist Visa Single Entry is for AED 350. And Tourist Visa Multiple Entry is AED 650.

EXTENSION

It can easily be extended twice for 30 days upon applying for it and after successful approval by the relevant authority. Applicants can do this without the need to leave the country.

Visitors and tourists can apply for the second renewal before the expiry of the first one. It will cost them AED 960 each time of renewal.

Those who overstay and do not renew their visa will have to pay AED 100 fine for each day of their overstay. It will be calculated from 10 days after the visa expiry.
