Being one of the 14 wealthiest countries in the world in relation to GDP, it attracts people from all around the world to conduct business in Austria. So, you can arrange a short business trip on this Visit Visa. But if you plan to stay in Austria for a long time for business, you will need a Long Term Business visa.

Because of affordable education, Austria is home to some of the best public universities in Europe. Generally, there are two types of visas for students. This Visit Visa allows you to study in Europe for only three months. But if you are planning to study here more than this time, you will need a different visa.

ELIGIBILITY

When applying for Austria’s Visit Visa, all travellers must meet the following eligibility requirements.

  • Applicant’s passport with validity for at least 6 months.
  • Travellers must have travel insurance with a minimum of 30,000 EUR coverage for medical emergencies.
  • Proof of Sufficient funds that you can afford your stay in Austria.
  • If you are travelling with your partner, then certificates to prove your marital status.

DOCUMENTS

  • Your travel document/passport has at least two blank pages with at least 6 months of validity.
  • Duly filled and signed Visa Application Form
  • Your Recent photographs follow the Schengen Visa Photo Rules set by ICAO.
  • Letter of Purpose: You must state your specific reason for the Visit.
  • Travel Itinerary with correct dates of your flights and plans on the trip to Austria.
  • Travel Insurance of 30,000 EUR that covers medical emergencies.
  • Civil Status Documents, including your marriage documents and birth licenses.
  • Proof of your accommodation in Austria, like hotel reservations or any type of housing you have secured.
  • Evidence of Enough financial means for your visit to Austria.

Particular documents are required depending on your purpose of visit.

  • Suppose you are visiting Austria for study purposes. In that case, you must provide proof of admission to an Austrian University and Receipts for paid tuition fee.
  • Business Licensee if you are visiting Austria for a business trip.
  • Medical Records if you are visiting Austria to seek medical help.

Note that all documents must be in English or German. Otherwise, you will need a translation certificate from a Certified Translator.

The fee for Austria Visit Visa depends on your profile and nationality. It is between 35-80 EUR. However, this visa is free of charge for students.

EXTENSION

An extension is rarely granted on this Visa. Unless you must have some solid reasons, you will be given an extension with the following reasons; Unexpected death of a family member or friend, Humanitarian reason to stay to help someone or due to any force majeure like a global pandemic or natural disaster.
