Angola's economy is recently growing in its oil and mining sector. And many companies around are world are declining in these business opportunities. If your company wants to expand the business to the country, your existing business in the state needs to hire new staff. So, all foreign nationals coming here for work must obtain Work Visa. Note that there is a specific quota allowed in the corporation. A firm can only have 30% foreign nationals at a time.

People getting work in Angola registered company must apply for Work Visa. This allows individuals to stay in the country for all professional activities mentioned in their work permit.

There are several categories of Work visas. Anyone entering the industrial, commercial, or fishing sector should get a D Work Visa. People in contract with Petroleum or Civil industry must apply for C Work Visa.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for Angola Work Visa, you need the following requirements.

  • You must have valid reasons with genuine intentions to legally work here.
  • Have proof of enough funds to support yourself and your dependents throughout your stay.
  • Reason to return to your country after stay.
  • No previous criminal record with PCC (Police Clearance Certificate) as proof.
  • You must not be an Angolan national in the past.
  • Have an employment contract or document that promises your employment.
  • Certificates that show all necessary qualifications.
  • Be in good health.
  • Your age should be at least 18 years.

DOCUMENTS

Documents required on submission of your Work Visa Application are following.

  • A letter from the Angolan entity addressed the Embassy for applying for Work Permit.
  • Copies of Visa Application form duly filled.
  • Applicant's Passport photocopy, with a validity of a minimum of 18 months.
  • Legalized Declaration by the applicant to abide by the state's laws (this letter should be translated into Portuguese). Verified by the Notary Public and by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • Two passport-size photographs.
  • Legalized Contract of employment or document that promise work. These letters must be translated into Portuguese.
  • A document that shows an extraction from the Criminal Registry by authorities of your country of residence. The document must be translated into Portuguese.
  • Health certificate by official Health Institution of applicant's country of residence. The certificate must be translated into Portuguese. 
  • Academic and professional certification translated into Portuguese. And these must be verified by the Consular and Diplomatic Mission of Angola.
  • Curriculum vitae translated into Portuguese and signed by Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

PROCESS

All applicants must apply for work visa at Angolan consulate. Visa applications and all related documents must be translated into Portuguese language.

Visa Processing Time
Working Visa should be issued within 15 days, but it may take upto 3 months if futher information is requested by the visa authorities.

DURATION AND FEES

Duration
The Angola Work Visa is valid for the duration of your employment. It may be issued for a minimum of three months and a maximum period of 36 months.

Fees
The cost of this Visa is around 100 USD. But it is worth mentioning that depending on your nationality, prices can vary.

EXTENSION

This Visa can extend up to 3 years; if your contract of employment is more than that, you have to renew your Visa.
