ELIGIBILITY

  • By the Act Governing Employment of Foreign National, you must have a statement from the Employer.
  • Proof of your qualification, including employment verification and references.
  • Internationally verified diploma proving your English or German language skills.
  • Tax statements and proof of last year’s Annual gross salary.
  • Declaration from your previous Employer proving your Previous Position in the company.
  • Your previous firm status with a document that shows your previous Employer was listed on the stock exchange.
  • Employer contract from your current Austrian Employer.
  • If you are coming to Austria for research activities, you must provide a declaration from your previous university where you performed research work; if you have a patent of your name, you must show your patent registration.

DOCUMENTS

  • You must have a Valid Passport.
  • Duly filled and signed Visa Application Form for Austria Work Visa.
  • Pictures of Applicant captured accordingly to Schengen Visa Picture Guidelines.
  • Document verifying that you have paid Austria Work Visa Fee.
  • Travel insurance of a minimum of 30,000 EUR covers any type of emergency.
  • You have attached a cover letter.
  • Flights dates with your travel itinerary.
  • Proof of sufficient resources to support yourself in Austria.
  • Hotel reservations or proof of any other accommodation.
  • Your all-civil status documents.
  • Proof of secured employment in Austria.

PROCESS

You must have secured a job before you apply for Austria Work Visa. If you don’t have any proof that shows your employment in Austria, you cannot apply for this visa. Once you get a job in Austria, you are also allowed to apply for a work visa and work permit. You must apply for a work permit along with your work visa. After the approval, you can travel and start your new life in Austria.

Visa Processing Time
The processing time for an Austrian work visa is usually around 8 weeks. But sometimes delays happen for various reasons.

DURATION AND FEES

Duration
On Austria Work Visa, you can work and live freely in the country for 2 years. If your employment contract is more than that, this work visa will be valid for the duration of your work plus an extra 3 months.

Fees
An Austria Work Visa costs around 160 EUR. This fee includes your 120 EUR application fee, 20 EUR of your resident permit fee and 20 EUR for the police identification.

EXTENSION

If you want to extend your Austria Work Visa when it expires, you can apply for a Red-White-Red card plus, which allows you to stay for more 2 years in Austria.

To qualify for an extension, you must pass module 1 of the integration agreement. This means you have basic German language knowledge of the Common European Framework of Reference Languages (CEFR).
