Work Visa Egypt

About

Many businesses that choose to grow in Egypt want to get started working right away with employees full of foreigners. Unfortunately, Egypt's lengthy application procedure for work permits can cause some applications to languish in the processing stage for more than a year. The secret to a quick and simple expansion is understanding how to obtain a work visa in Egypt.

Your employees can work legally in Egypt for the specified time frame by using a work permit. You must abide by all the rules and guidelines outlined in your work permit while you are a visitor in Egypt.

Eligibility

You may apply for a work visa if you are a business owner in Egypt looking to sponsor foreign employees. The employees may also initiate the process but the application will not be processed without the employer.

Documents

While applying for a work visa in Egypt, you must meet the following requirements.

  • A completed application from the Tahrir complex's Ministry of Manpower and Training Facilities
  • A current passport
  • Seven photos the size of a passport
  • The employee's tax ID card in two copies.
  • Academic credentials in two copies, including diplomas and certificates
  • A replica of the commercial register for your business
  • If necessary, a license for practising the profession
  • A memo explaining your justification for hiring a foreign national
  • The related authority's blessing
  • Evidence that a company representative applied for the work permit on the employee's behalf
  • A negative result for HIV and Covid, etc.
  • A receipt showing you paid 1,000 EGP in permit fees.

Process

Acquiring a work visa in Egypt can be a bit hectic. It may cause several setbacks and can take months to process. It is mostly due to the inefficient system of processing applications. However, the good thing is that employees don't need to worry about it as most of the work is done by the sponsor.

Visa Processing Time
The processing time for an Egyptian work visa may be one month or longer. Your staff members can travel to Egypt and apply for a work permit over the course of four to six weeks. They are permitted to work during this period as long as they submit all necessary paperwork for a work permit.

How to Apply
After the work permit request is approved, the Ministry of Manpower and Immigration will inform the closest Egyptian embassy to issue a tourist visa. To apply for a work visa in Egypt, you must first get approval from the Egyptian Labor Authorities. The candidate can then apply for entry clearance at an Egyptian diplomatic mission abroad, which ultimately results in receiving a work permit.
