One form of work visa is available from Nepal, and it permits the holder to work lawfully there for a predetermined period of time. People can enter the nation on a tourist visa and, after receiving a job offer, apply for a work visa in particular places.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a work visa in Nepal, You must meet the following requirements;

  • An employment offer from a Nepalese business or institution.
  • A work visa must be acquired by the employer instead of the applicant.

Documents

One must submit an application and a number of supporting documents to the Department of Immigration to obtain a Nepal Work visa. The prerequisites for a foreigner to obtain a work permit in Nepal are as follows: 

  • A letter of appointment from the authorities must be submitted.
  • A current passport or a copy of your passport must be submitted. 
  • Like the tourist visa, you must submit a copy of your most recent visa. 
  • Valid documentation from various government agencies must be submitted. 
  • A tax clearance given by your company is required.

Process

Your employees will probably be in the country on a tourist visa as they file for a work visa. The procedure will result in a change in their visa status.

Visa Processing Time
When submitting their original passport for a visa, applicants will receive information about the date and time of passport pickup. Visa issuance typically takes two working days.

How to Apply
You may always use the option to hire a visa consultant to take care of your application. However, if you want to handle it by yourself, here are a few steps you may follow:

  • Get the Department of Labour and Employment Promotion in Nepal to approve your work permit and issue you an offer of employment.
  • Send the completed visa application form and necessary paperwork to Nepal's closest embassy.
  • After paying the application cost, wait for the visa to be processed.
  • Within seven days of your arrival in Nepal, enrol with the Department of Immigration.

Duration & Fees

Duration
In Nepal, work permits are provided for the length of the employment agreement or job offer. Initially issued for a year in most cases, the work permit may be renewed based on the holder's working situation and the employer's sponsorship.

Fees
As stated in the job contract, the employee or employer is required to pay a monthly cost of about 75 USD. A single re-entry will cost an extra 20 USD, whereas many re-entries will cost roughly 60 USD.
