Work Visa Poland

About

Non-EU nationals normally need a work visa in order to work in Poland. Citizens of other EU members are not required to obtain a work permit in Poland; instead, they can use a Schengen visa. Most other people will require both a work permit and a visa to remain in the nation.

The work permit in Poland can be of different types as follow;

  • If you have got a job offer from a company registered in Poland, you need a Work Permit A.
  • You need a Work Permit B if you work as a board member and plan to stay in Poland for longer than six months.
  • You will be given a Work Permit C if the employer sends you to Poland for more than 30 days to serve for their Polish branch.
  • Work Permit D is provided if your employer sends you to Poland to work in export services. There must not be a Polish branch of the foreign employer.

Eligibility

In order to be eligible for this visa,

  • You must be a non-EU citizen. Nationals of EU countries are not required to obtain this visa to enter Poland.
  • You should have a job opportunity lined up for you in the country.
  • You must not have a criminal or medical record.

Documents

While applying for a work visa in Poland, you must provide the following documents,

  • A thoroughly filled-out visa application form
  • Records of the employer's financial history and, most importantly, the recent financial transactions
  • Copies of the applicant's valid passport and other identity documents.
  • Proof that the applicant is covered by health insurance
  • Evidence proving you have a place to stay during your visit to Poland
  • Send the original, duly-signed letter of employment, which should include information on your position, compensation, and other employment-related facts.
  • A current version of your resume and any credentials attesting to your employment history relevant to the position you're looking for.

Process

A Polish employer must submit a work permit application on behalf of anyone who intends to work there. There are various steps in the application process, but before beginning, you must understand how long it will take to complete your visa.

Visa Processing Time
Your work visa application may take up to six weeks to be processed by the Polish embassy or consulate. Due to the significance of the visa type, it is advisable that you apply for your work permit at least a couple of months before your travel.

How to Apply
You must follow these steps while applying for this visa,

  • Visit the nearest embassy and set up an appointment there.
  • Submit the visa application form along with the required documents.
  • Pay the application fee and wait for the confirmation.

Duration & Fees

Duration
Work permits are only valid if the applicant completes the work listed in the permit and are only good for a maximum of one year. Additionally, the term is based on the continued legality of the employment contract.

Fees
The application fee depends on the validity of your permit. If you are applying for less than three months, you will have to pay around 11 EUR. Similarly, you must pay 42 EUR if you are looking for a Type D work permit.
