Nigeria will soon implement an e-Visa system for short stays under the Nigeria Visa Policy 2020, as announced by the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nandap.

The system aims to attract foreign direct investment and boost tourism by streamlining visa application processes. Nigeria will also install e-gates at Lagos and Abuja international airports and integrate an Advanced Passenger Information System to enhance border control.

The new policies reflect Nigeria's commitment to improving business ease and attracting skilled individuals while maintaining national security. The rollout of upgraded e-passports will continue to reduce human interface and increase efficiency.

New immigrants to Canada are more likely to move provinces or leave the country due to housing costs, according to an Angus Reid survey. While 28% of Canadians consider moving for affordable housing, this rises to 39% among immigrants who've been in Canada for less than a decade.

Big cities like Toronto and Vancouver see many newcomers considering relocation. Ontario and British Columbia residents are most likely to move, with Saskatchewan, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Alberta being more affordable alternatives.

Despite housing concerns, young adults remain optimistic about buying homes, with many planning to cut spending and work extra jobs to save for down payments.

The Philippines launched a Cruise Visa Waiver (CVW) Program, allowing visa-required foreign cruise tourists to enter without a visa. Managed by BI-accredited operators, travellers must have passports valid for six months from arrival and can stay for up to 14 days.

The waiver is for single-entry, non-convertible, and non-extending stays, requiring arrival and departure on the same cruise ship. BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco highlighted the program's role in boosting post-pandemic tourism.

The initiative, approved in early 2024, aims to enhance tourist experiences and aid economic recovery, with projected increases in cruise calls and passenger numbers.
