Romania Family Reunification Visa

About

Non-EU nationals who want to reunite with their family in Romania are given the Romania Family Reunification Visa (D/VF).

The Romanian resident who serves as the sponsor must be one of the following in order for them to bring their family members with them:

  • An EU or Romanian national.
  • A holder of an ICT permit, an EU Blue Card, or residency permission for Romania.

Eligibility

In order to be eligible,

  • The applicant must be a Romanian citizen or resident's spouse, minor child, or dependent parent.
  • The sponsor is required to show evidence of the family member's financial support.
  • The applicant must not be a danger to Romania's public health, national security, or order.

Documents

Both the family member and sponsor are supposed to present certain documents. Some of the paperwork needed for a Romanian family reunion visa is listed below:

  • A valid passport that won't expire for at least three months after the anticipated stay in Romania is required for the family member.
  • Documents that attest to family links.
  • A certified letter confirming that the sponsor will reside with their family.
  • Evidence that the person has the resources necessary to sustain their family.
  • A copy of the passport of any family members residing outside the EU who wish to go to Romania with the sponsor.
  • A letter of approval from the other parent or legal guardian if the sponsor is requesting permission to bring his or her child.

Process

The Romania General Inspectorate for Immigration must grant permission before the non-EU national can apply for a long-stay visa.

Visa Processing Time
There are various factors that determine how quickly your Romanian long-stay visa will be processed. However, it is advised that you submit your application at least 45 days before your intended departure date for Romania.

The procedure for requesting a Romania family reunification visa is getting the necessary documentation, filling out the visa application form, and delivering it to the Romanian embassy or consulate. The family member will receive a visa when the application is processed, permitting them to enter and stay in Romania if it is approved.
