ABOUT

Linköping University (or Linköpings Universitet, LiU) is a public research institute in Sweden, initially established during the late 1960s. Later, it was upgraded to the university level in 1975. This institute has created a reputation during the past 40 years through the brilliance of its academic programs.

LiU has four campuses in three cities. These are Campus Valla and Campus US in Linköping, Campus Lidingö in Stockholm, and Campus Norrköping in Norrköping. A campus bus is available for students, which charges no fee. It connects the Norrköping and Linköping campuses.

The university provides quality education in four faculties, including Arts, Health, Educational Sciences, and Technology. It is focused on bringing knowledge from different faculties and striving for results. Under these faculties, they have ten departments. Here it's important to know that there is one international bachelor program taught in English. Apart from that, they have eight research centers. Also, LiU is a member of the European Consortium of Innovative Universities. It is a founding member of the Conceive Design Implement Operate Initiative.

Notable alums from Linköping University include:

The university understands the different needs of international exchange and the program students; thus, there is a dedicated page for them. Here you can find all the answers to your queries and whom to contact when you need some help.

International students at LiU who have exceptional academic achievements can apply for a scholarship, as several are available. Also, local students can also avail them.

ACCOMMODATION

Students are required to find nearby housing options. Linköping is not as populated as most cities in Sweden, so you won't have much problem finding a suitable residence. Check the breakdown of living costs provided by the university, including minimum accommodation expenses.

International students who came on Student Visa of Sweden and after receiving a residence permit, should look for housing options. If you are an exchange student, there is a strong chance that the university will offer you accommodations.
