Seoul National University is a national institute located in Seoul, South Korea. The university is considered among the flagship Korean national universities. Founded in 1946, SNU is considered South Korea's most prestigious educational institution. It has 3 campuses: a primary campus in Gwanak-gu and 2 additional campuses in Pyeongchang and Daehangno. SNU comprises 16 colleges, one graduate school and 9 professional schools.

All sixteen colleges of the Seoul National University offer 83 undergraduate degree programs. For doctoral and master programs, there is one graduate school which offers 99 programs. In addition to that, there are 12 professional graduate schools.

The aim of Seoul National University is to foster global convergence in students. The University's mission is to develop an autonomous education system to strengthen character and creativity. The university wants to develop an "L-shaped" education system that invites in-depth discussion and lowers the barrier between various majors. SNU encourages its students to explore various perspectives through student-directed interdisciplinary courses and student-directed education programs.

Students

SNU has a student body of around 11,000 graduate and 17,000 undergraduate students. According to data collected by KEDI, this institute expend more on its students per capita than any other institute in South Korea that enrols at least 10,000 students.

The SNU International Students Association (SISA) is the only primary student body to support and represent international students at the university. This association makes sure to make international students' life comfortable and easy and protect their rights. SISA also provide useful information related to academic, student life etc. Each year they organize several events such as the International Students Sports Festival, Ambassadors Meeting, Cultural Trip, SISA Party, International Food Festival, etc.

The university offers a vibrant array of events and activities to keep SNU social calendar full. Through these events and school festivities, students get a chance to experience firsthand university and Korean culture.

Accommodation

The Gwanak Residence Halls host undergraduates, graduates, and families numbering over 5,000 people and hailing from over 80 countries. The diversity of personalities, cultures, and education on display promote coexistence and harmony within the shared space. BK International House takes care of all international researchers and professors' accommodation. There are various options for students to live in safe and convenient housing.
