Sungkyunkwan University

Sungkyunkwan University is a private research institution located in South Korea. It was first founded in 1398 and situated in central Seoul. Since it was one of the Joseon Dynasty's first universities, the state administration's great code ruled it with royal assent.

SKKU is Asia’s most ancient university. It is ranked as one of the top-ranking private universities in Korea. The institution has been growing since 1938 and has now made significant improvements. They aim to become the best institute for research and education globally. The SKKU has commenced multiple strategic programs with the support of well-known Samsung and VISION 2020. The day Samsung Group regained the university’s foundation, immense progress was seen, all thanks to the excellent management system of Samsung. No doubt the improvements are evident, especially when the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Korea announced SKKU as ranked second by the number of published research papers and 3rd based on the governmental research funding in Korea (2011).

On the one hand, SKKU became a gold mine for Samsung as the university offered qualified employees for their firm. On the other hand, SKKU became a hub for talented students to pursue their education and an example to other institutions in Korea.

It has student body of more than 30,000. It has a Counseling Centre to help students with their problems and support them in their future goals. The center provides several services regarding academics, interpersonal relationships, personality, psychiatry, and several other areas to improve students’ quality of life and help them pursue their goals.

Student Human Resources Development Team at the university aids students in career management to help them identify their talents.

This university provides multiple mass media platforms to aid students in learning, education, and public opinion. These platforms keep the students updated about news and encourage students’ opinions and criticism.

SKKU offers on-campus dormitories, called SKKU dorms, for students’ convenience. The Humanities and Social Sciences Campus has ten dormitories and housing facilities. The names of the housing facilities are:
