Tampere University is a Finnish research institute finally established in 2019 after a merger between the University of Tampere and Tampere University of Technology.
The University of Tampere started in 1925 as a college and was named a university in 1966. On the other hand, the Helsinki University of Technology created a sub-campus later called the Tampere University of Technology in 1972. Both these institutes merged in 2019 to form Tampere University.
This university's entire academic staff is 4,200. As for now, it comprises seven faculties and offers studies at various levels.
