The Nanyang Technological University is a national research institute based in Singapore. NTU is the second oldest autonomous institute in Singapore and one of the world's top universities. Before Singapore's independence from the British, in 1955, Nanyang University was created south of the current Nanyang Technological University campus, presenting Yunnan Garden as its centre. The university's administration building currently houses a national monument and a Chinese Heritage Centre.

The university's main campus covers 490 acres of land, making it Singapore's largest university campus. NTU is organized into several schools and colleges, including the College of Science, Engineering, Humanities, Nanyang Business School, Arts and Social Sciences, Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Graduate College, S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies and National Institute of Education. The Nanyang Technological University also houses several Research Centers of Excellence, such as the Singapore Centre on Environmental Life Sciences Engineering and the Earth Observatory of Singapore.

The university provides top-notch global education to its students. The student body of NTU includes international Olympiad medalists and top scholars from the region and beyond. Students

This institute has 23,951 students and 3,846 full-time teaching staff. Students Union Council of the Nanyang Technological University represent the voices of all undergraduate students and acts as a medium of conveyance between the university and students. This council comprises School-based academic clubs, Students Union EXCO, Welfare and Sports Services Club and Cultural activities. The university provides rich opportunities for communities and groups to grow, as well as recognition and encouragement for student-led initiatives. It also provides a platform to share experiences and knowledge.

UCC (University Counselling Centre) at the Nanyang Technological University provides physical well-being and professional counselling services to NTU students and staff. It also empowers and supports employees and students to take positive action and approach by developing potential and life skills.

Accommodation

On-campus undergraduate and graduate housing is available for students. In graduate housing, due to a limited number of spaces, priority is given to new research students. Graduate Halls 1 and 2 are reserved for postgraduate students to stay on-campus. Due to high demand and limited places in these residences, NTU doesn't guarantee a spot.
