ABOUT

Also abbreviated as DTU, the Technical University of Denmark is a leading technical institute in Denmark with a rich history. The University was first initiated by the person behind electromagnetism and a leader of the Danish Golden Age, Hans Christian Orsted. It was established in 1829 and has done a wonderful job ever since. It especially emphasizes engineering and science at the bachelor's, master and doctoral levels.

For almost two centuries, the Technical University of Denmark has been devoted to fulfilling the vision of its founder to create and develop value using technical sciences and natural sciences to benefit society. Today, the University is ranked as one of the foremost technical institutions in Europe, endures to set new records in a number of publications and persistently develops and increases our corporation with industry and assignments accomplished by University's public sector consultancy.

The Technical University of Denmark has an international educational exchange program with educational institutes around the globe and enjoys close research collaboration with them. In addition to building educational and research programs in the Euro Tech Universities, Nordic Five Tech, as well as with KAIST in South Korea.

STUDENTS

The University is considered a home for more than 11,000 students worldwide. These students include 7,000 undergraduate, 3,000 postgraduate and 1,000 doctoral students.

There is a wide range of various associations, clubs and organizations for both staff and students. DTU Arts Association at the University is to explore artistic expression and art. This imparts an artistic dimension to the academic community. They also arrange events and exhibitions throughout the year. Piano Forum is an inspirational forum and meeting place for students and employees who are interested in piano music. The University also have a large selection of outdoor and indoor facilities. Indoors you can play Indiaca, soccer, dance, badminton, sing, and attend a yoga class. 

Denmark being one of the peaceful and safest countries in the world and the least corrupt, which is among one of the main reasons why its people rate themselves as being amongst the happiest nation on the earth. Around 86% of the Danes population speak English with excellent Language proficiency.

ACCOMMODATION

Boligfonden DTU is the department responsible for arranging accommodations for students and guests at the University. If you are an employee, student or guest, you may apply for residence at BDTU. The University offers accommodations to most of the applicants
