ABOUT

The Grenoble Alps University (Université Grenoble Alpes) is a research university located in Grenoble, France. UGA is the third-largest university in France. It was founded in 1339. This institute brings together research and education establishments.

This institute is a comprehensive university offering academic programs in Law, Science, Technology, Health Sciences, Business and Economics, Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Literature and Languages, Sports Sciences and Physical Education. Being a global university, UGA prides itself on its international relations and diverse growing network of partnerships. Academic programs here are designed to provide all the necessary skills to meet the challenges of the advanced world and to compete in the international job market. Due to this, more than 6,000 students benefit from its education and research.

The Université Grenoble Alpes offer academic programs in 24 faculties, institute, and schools. Courses offered here are divided into four domains which cover all disciplinary fields. University has 80 laboratories where research is grouped into 6 interdisciplinary centres where they adapt to be on cutting-edge innovation.

STUDENTS

UGA, the third-largest institute in France, has a student body of about 60,000 and over 3000 researchers. Grenoble Alps University is declined to internationalize the institute for solving all socio-economic problems of the world.

ISSO (International Students & Scholars Office) of the institute is entirely dedicated to all international students, researchers, and doctoral students and their accompanying family. EURAXESS Service Centre accredits international Students & Scholars Office; it is a label given to European Commission.

Teams of International Students & Scholars Office help and inform students throughout the whole duration of their study and research stay. It helps you in settling all practical procedures and practical matters like visa validation, accommodation, residence, health, permit applications, budget, insurance etc. 

ACCOMMODATION

There are various accommodations option available to you in Grenoble. Public Student Residences are the first option for students and researchers. This is the most budget-friendly housing range from 200-500 EUR per month. These Residences are managed by institutes Regional Centers known as CROUS, subsidized by the French government. The next option is Private Student residences which are open to international students. Prices for this option range from 250-750 EUR.

Private Rentals is another option for renting places directly from landlords or property agents. Prices for this option can range from 400-600 EUR per month.

Student and youth homes, also known as “foyers”, are a housing option for young students between 18 to 16 years old. Some religious associations manage these accommodations. Here the priority is given to young students and young workers. This housing option costs around 250 EUR per month.
