ABOUT

The University of Padova is a research institute in Italy founded in the 13th century by a group of teachers and students from Bologna. It is the second-oldest in the country and the fifth-oldest university in the world.

It offers studies in a large number of departments. There is a total of 33 degree programmes available at the University of Padua. The university is spread over eight schools. These include;

  • Engineering

  • Medicine and Surgery

  • Economics and Political sciences

  • Agricultural science and Veterinary medicine

  • Sciences

  • Human and social sciences and cultural heritage

  • Law

  • Psychology

University of Padova has produced numerous notable alumni including researchers, world leaders and intellectuals serving through out the world. Many of these have achievements in theology, arts, literature and natural sciences.

STUDENTS

More than 60,000 students are a part of the University. There are 38,495 undergraduates and 20,822 postgraduate students. In this university, Foreigners and citizens are both eligible to apply. Thus, these students hail from around the world with a majority of Italian locals. The university has approximately 8% international students.

The institution provides a wide range of upskilling possibilities for overseas students, including internships, partnerships with partner universities, industry-led projects, and soft-skill development activities. Additionally, UNIPD maintains exchange agreements with other colleges and universities.

ACCOMMODATION

The university offers limited number of accommodations and mostly to exchange students

Students can obtain lodging at homes, colleges, apartments, and companies that have contracts with the university. International students are given preference for several lodgings, for which there is a housing office specifically for them.

So, the most viable option you have is to look for off-campus residence. But you are required to apply for on-campus residence even if you prefer private accommodation.
