Lancaster University is a collegiate research institute with an international reputation for combining world-leading research with personal education. It is a global university located in Lancaster, Lancashire, England. In 1964, this institution was set under the Royal Charter of the U.K.'s Government. This university is internationally highly ranked in providing excellence in research and teaching within its beautiful campus setting.

This institute is a collegiate university with 8 Undergraduate colleges and 1 graduate college on campus. Lancaster University has multiple departments organized into four main faculties: Arts and Social Sciences, Management School, Health and Medicine, and Science and Technology.

Students

With a student population of over 16,000, Lancaster University has Undergraduate students of over 11,000 and Postgraduates of almost 5,000. They have a student enrolled from 142 countries. Nearly 30% of university full-time research and teaching staff are non-British.

LUSU (Lancaster University Students' Union) is the primary representative body of students at the university. It helps and supports the university as a volunteering unit and helps the institute to become involved with the local and international community. This union operates a shop, a nightclub and off-campus housing agency named LUSU Living. SCAN (Student Comments and News) is the newspaper established by the association in 1967. Over 175 different societies operate in the university, which covers various areas and interests. Common areas include politics, sports, hobbies, religion, and culture.

LUAC (Lancaster University Athletics Club) was formed in 2011 to connect the sports societies at the university. Annually, the the Roses Tournament against the University of York is organized in the summer term. This tournament is described as Europe's biggest varsity competition. The student union of both universities organize this event.

Accommodation

LU offers various undergraduate residential spaces to suit budgets and preferences. The university also provides a range of housing options suitable for families with children, with two and three-bedroom family homes situated across the campus.

Lancaster University's Accommodation has been named "Best University Halls" eight times in National Student Housing Awards. Student Housing at the university has a space of 7000 beds for students and families.
